Stone Circle
Photo: Harry Cunliffe (Nikon E7900)
Interesting photo Harry, where exactly is this?
Will the local Druids be celebrating the Summer Solstice here on Thursday
If that's supposed to be a circle, it must have been designed by Wigan Council.
Still, it shows that someone is making an effort.
LAY LINES
Once on the stony road to Coccium,
I thought I saw on a night in June,
Through a secret cleaving in the leaves
Dancers in the lantern moon,
As round the ancient stones they weaved
The clouded dream from whence I woke,
When I was on the road to Coccium
By the sapling oaks.
I think not Mick, looks a bit on the shady side for that !
Nice one Poet !
One big push and over they will go - could be very tempting for some!
Ken, from Hindley go down Liverpool Road about half a mile, near the sign for Platt Bridge there is a small car park on the left for Low Hall Park, walk through and head for the lake you will come to the stones on the left, it's a good place for dog walkers too . H.
Dtease, you will find that there are six stones, four of which are placed on the compass points for North, South, East & West. These stones were put in by the volunteer group for Low Hall and are well set in. Mick. Low Hall.
My respects to the volunteer group. It must have taken a great deal of effort to set them up.
If you're thinking of settin' 'em up DTease, mine's a pint of Warsteiner...or failing that, Stella will do at a push.
My o my Ozy, those were the days my friend, I thought they'd never end. Sadly the passage of time and the lack of a work related pension has forced me to become more of a taker than a giver these days when it comes to alcoholic beverages.
Buddy, can you spare a dime?
