Waterfall

Waterfall
Replacement bridge over the waterfall at Fairy Glen Haigh Plantations, it's a more robust bridge than the old wooden one complete with handrails on both sides as the water flows from the pond on the other side from the photo.

Nice shot. I always thought that Fairy Glen was in Hall Lane, Appley Bridge?? Never heard of the one in Haigh Plantations, but who am I.

Our Garry is 'yon mon' who sups sherry and sits in front of a roaring fire.....and sometimes presides over Wigan World!! His bark is worse than his bite!!!

Good grief Mick not you as well? Garry doesn't know who he is, you don't know where you are. Are they putting something in the water?

Comment by: Jonno on 19th March 2017 at 19:37

I cant see you either Mick, you're really lost. I'm with Garry on this, i've been around over 75 years and i've only heard of one Fairy Glen, the one near Wrightington / Parbold.

'Fairy Glen' ? surely that's in the I.O.M. and if you don't say hello to the fairies your in trouble.

Comment by: david on 21st March 2017 at 17:07

The Fairy Glen that I knew was not far from the River Douglas.

Your photo from 2010 looks superb with all those Harts Tongue ferns Harry, now all gone, hopefully they will (or be allowed to) grow back.
