A cracking shot Dave. I missed this one, I have only been skimming the Steam Railtours web page recently and I assume that when it listed this as Crewe to York I presumed that it wasn't passing Wigan.

Caught it beautifully Dave. Looks in good nick. Kicking yourself John?

A better shot would have been from the other side, that way you would have captured all the coaches too.
But never the less a nice shot.

Nice one Dave, clear as crystal as usual.
DAVE, could i refer you to a St Georges Primary School photo uploaded today in Album, i'd like your opinion please.

Neil - there was a modern electric thing bound for Liverpool on the other side.

I wonder what the old Footplatemen would make of these 'scrubbed - up' engines! I should imagine if they see them in spirit they would be dancing with glee! (I wouldn't be surprised if they are aboard)

I like that thought, Vb. x.

Thankyou Irene. Since reading "A Footplateman Remembers" I see the trains with a different eye and quite an emotional one at that especially because of Len!

Great to see the old engines still preserved, scrubbed up as Vb says and in service!
As kids always exciting a train journey!

Thanks Day
