Who would ever guess this photo was only taken a couple of days ago? Fantastic photo!

Comment by: cullie on 6th August 2015 at 08:45

photo shop job this funny the last time i did a track patrol over this bridge there was over head wires and that was only last week

Comment by: Dave (Oy) on 6th August 2015 at 09:28

Cullie - yes - photoshop job. Looks much better without the gantry and overhead wires don't you think? The bridge looks better without the graffiti too. :)

Comment by: owzat on 6th August 2015 at 09:29

very observant mick.Car mill stated on the caption too.!!!

Comment by: Janice on 6th August 2015 at 09:55

Fantastic image which really suits the monochrome. Cullie, does it really matter that that overhead wires have been removed??? Even with the wires left in, this would still show an extremely high level of photographic technique - and photoshop skills.

Wigan?

Comment by: John Morris on 6th August 2015 at 11:37

Great photo Dave. The overhead wires are the downside of the electrification of the Liverpool line, photoshop is the only way of getting rid of them. It certainly looks better without them....and the graffiti.

BRILLIANT

Top notch photo, Dave. Very well done.

Who cares if it is not actually within the Wigan boundaries, it has always been known as a local beauty spot.

Looks like a 1950's photo.

Comment by: Anne on 6th August 2015 at 16:41

Isn't he just one of the best. Quite, looks like the 1950s,no graffiti.

Comment by: DS on 6th August 2015 at 17:48

Overcooked, tell it like it is Dave.

Comment by: Garry on 6th August 2015 at 19:16

This train could have been taken at Bryn...in Wigan.

Comment by: Dave (Oy) on 6th August 2015 at 20:02

Thanks for the kind words those that like the pic :) Can't please 'em all and I don't try. It's my pic and I did it my way. If you like that - beltin'. If you don't - that's ok too :) If you want if differently - go take one how you like it :)

Comment by: DS on 6th August 2015 at 22:04

It's not a picture Dave, it's more like a painting.

Comment by: Ernest Pyke on 6th August 2015 at 22:28

You know my view on B and W, Dave. Would like to see it in colour. I agree with removing electrification - how long does it take?

Comment by: Dave (Oy) on 6th August 2015 at 22:43

DS - Thanks - that was my intention :)

Ernest - took about 20min. Here it is in colour just for you :)

Thanks very much, Dave.
To me, it`s far better in colour.

Very good photo Dave, overhead power cables and gantries with steam trains don't go well. This is a marvelous photograph done in B/W, It's like going back 50 years.
I'm sure the people from St Helens would echo these lovely comments.
