I was watching two men earlier this year measuring up the viaduct with surveying equipment.
They said that there are some plans to paint on the side of the viaduct.

This is in Shevington. Gathurst is south of the river Douglas.
Two old forms of transport, canal and rail meet up with the modern form of transport (the motorway) at this point.

As children we always called this Gathurst !!!

B------s true blue, The Warriors aren't lodging anywhere, we are paying Latics rent for them at the moment. You can crow when you've won the FA Cup 19 times, as we have The Challenge Cup. On the right is Dean Lock House, which is in Gathurst.
Patricia; as a child, I did too! It`s only recently, thro` a photo in Album, that the boundary between Shevington and Gathurst was made clear to me.

Yes Dean Locks are in Shevington and the northern side of the viaduct is also Shevington and the southern side is in Gathurst
I proper came a cropper off my pushbike one summer on the Vets charity bike ride and smashed onto the cobbles on that bend! Owch.
