Alan, the station was rebuilt in the late 70s, the new station is very nice but it doesn't have the atmosphere of the old station.
There are two l's in Wallgate.
What's this line in the center used for.? It looks used quite a lot..shiny rails.

as far as i am aware the bay is still used for trains terminating at wigan from liverpool / southport
