Good one, Mike.

One of favourite places in Wigan. I remember it before Heinz was built and it was a special place back then, when I was a kid.

Well done Mike a beautiful shot. Right folks get ready for a painting lesson!
On canvas board with acrylics a yellow ochre wash with touch of crimson with burnt umber for the trees and foreground!
Bellissimo!

What lovely colours, one to frame I think!

Same here Fred...spent hours in Porters Wood, remembered before Heinz was built. Tree climbing and playing in the stream making dams, floating bits of stick in the water.

It was a more innocent time, not a care in the world, bottle of corporation pop and jam butty in tow.

Fred / Britboy, you paint a wonderful picture before my time. Is there anything in the archive does anyone know, before Heinz,s that shows this landscape. Porters wood, will always be a treasure to me

My sentiments exactly Fred. Going to Porters Wood with bottle of water and the inevitable sugar butties. Sometimes condensed milk, brilliant day out when we were 10. Super picture
