Lafford Lane, never heard of it, mind you I don't know much of Upholland. Looks like they are on a slippery slope.

Beautifully atmospheric

Comment by: A.W. on 10th January 2015 at 10:02

It is nice to know that some bits of UpHolland have still managed to escape the threat of urbanisation.

Comment by: irene roberts on 10th January 2015 at 11:38

Spellbinding! Absolutely beautiful.

Comment by: Jean F (Wales) on 10th January 2015 at 15:42

This is a real WOW picture....well d9ne Neil....again.

Comment by: Julie on 10th January 2015 at 17:29

Tend to go with Mick on this one, sorry Neil.

Comment by: Garry on 10th January 2015 at 18:43

I'm with Julie and Mick on this one. Does nowt for me!

Comment by: irene roberts on 10th January 2015 at 21:17

We can't all see beauty in the same things. It would be a very boring world if we all saw things through the same eyes. I have seen some paintings that people rave about, ( some by local artists), that I wouldn't even know I was holding the right way up, yet they command thousands of pounds. Beauty is indeed in the eyes of the beholder.

Comment by: Fred Mason on 10th January 2015 at 22:13

Mick, Julie and Garry...this pic is special just for the 'glare' That is the whole point of it. I have been waiting to take such a photo for many years but have never seen this amount of mist and sun at the same time. It is a classic.

Beautiful, Neil....

Comment by: derek callaghan on 10th January 2015 at 22:31

Suggest Specsavers Mick, it's a lovely winter picture. See Irene's comments

Comment by: truewigana on 10th January 2015 at 23:17

Mick's rude, its a great pic, much better than seeing that stupid bike on almost everyone of his boring pic's,

Comment by: Julie on 11th January 2015 at 00:51

Fred, For you the glare is special, for me it's too much and not a picture I will go back to like others on the forum. Classic? I agree with Irene's last sentence.

Comment by: Jonno on 11th January 2015 at 00:52

Couldn't agree with you more, truewigana, Mick never sees the quality in anyone else's work, only his own, and yes Derek, i have told him before, go to Specsavers. Nice pic Neil.

Comment by: Mick on 11th January 2015 at 12:32

Jonno I usually ignore you because your are a forum fraud, you are one of these soft lads who post under different names all over Wiganworld and try to make trouble for some members.
One thing you are correct about though is I never sees the quality in anybody elses photos on Photo of the Day because its not a photo competition, but I do make plenty of genuine comments unlike a lot of others.

Comment by: Garry on 11th January 2015 at 20:03

Fred, you need to go out at the right time with your camera, it's that easy, its only mist...and I still don't like it.

Comment by: irene roberts on 11th January 2015 at 20:50

You have every right not to like it, Garry, but those of us who do like it have equal rights. I am not out for an argument; I am just stating a fact.

Comment by: truewigana on 11th January 2015 at 23:14

Wondered how long it would be before dick's sidekick Larry popped up

Comment by: Neil Cain on 12th January 2015 at 11:35

I am glad the majority seem to like it and I appreciate the kind comments. Those that don't have every right not to...it would be a boring world if we were all alike. Good luck with your camera Fred.

Comment by: Dave (Oy) on 12th January 2015 at 17:50

Lovely shot Neil!

Comment by: Garry on 12th January 2015 at 21:20

Truewigana is liewigana, none sence. You as well post under different names.

Comment by: Garry on 12th January 2015 at 21:32

No one can see Mick's bike on his brill photo taken on the 6th Jan, TRUEWIGANA......AND WHERE'S YOUR PHOTOS???

Comment by: truewigana on 12th January 2015 at 22:34

1, it's sense, not sence,
2, i don't claim to be a photographer, just someone who gets pleasure admiring some nice pic's
3, i am the one and only person commenting under this name,
4, Nowt special about dick's pic 6/1
5, i guess i was right about his sidekick
6, mission accomplished :)

Comment by: Ann on 14th January 2015 at 14:31

Mick and Garry bring this forum to life, what's with some blokes on here!

Comment by: Julie on 14th January 2015 at 17:42

How can this be a forum, if time after time Mick and Garry are condemned for the simple act of a negative comment???

Comment by: truewigana on 14th January 2015 at 23:56

Dick and Larry are rude to some wonderful photo's on here, just giving them a bit of their rudeness back, what makes a good pic, the photographer ?, the quality of the equipment ?, being in the right place at the right time ?, for me it is what it brings to the individual, a memory, a smile or whatever, if its not to my taste i wouldnt be offensive to it, Mick spits his dummy out on everyones pics and larry nods his yed

Comment by: truewigana on 14th January 2015 at 23:59

and it seems it is like i said previously, only a select few are welcomed here, little wigan world

Comment by: Ann on 15th January 2015 at 09:31

Give it a rest Truewigana, and leave the lads alone.I think it's you thats spit the dummy out! As I've said before they bring WW to life where others don't.

Comment by: truewigana on 15th January 2015 at 18:10

No i wont give it a rest Ann, who the hell are you anyway, mick in drag?, his wife?, or his bit on the side, maybe your just another senile narrow minded geriatric bigot like a few others here, when mick is rude u think it brings life to the little pact but then say to me give it a rest, i think not annie

Comment by: Alan on 15th January 2015 at 20:02

Who may I ask is others on here? Nowt at all wrong with Mick and Garys comments if that's what your referring too. freedom of speech has most on here do!

Comment by: truewigana on 23rd January 2015 at 10:00

well you for 1 alan,

Comment by: Julie on 23rd January 2015 at 17:02

Just as much as I respect Mick and Garry,s right of expression, truewigana , in my view, has the same right. I personally warmly welcome his comments and do not find them offensive at all, indeed I find them interesting . I like people in the forum who express their views clearly as Truwigana does. I hope you stay and make further contributions .

Comment by: Veronica on 29th April 2018 at 15:11

A bit late I know... I think the picture is dazzlingly beautiful... It isn't a glare on the photo but a gorgeous sunbeam breaking through. Anybody who doesn't like this has no imagination ... , at the same time entitled to their opinion.
