Isn't that the Ernest Pyke tower on Winter hill or am I mistaken. Great photo, I also never tire of looking at it.

Explain Derek; I`d the opportunity to go to the top of the TV mast on Winter Hill, but refused.

Julie, if you want a closer view of Rivington, taken on the same day from Haigh, you can look at this :-

You can easily identify the white building in this photo which is below the extreme left tower on "the hill"

It would be really nice if it were possible to view images with a higher resolution than they appear on the PaD pages. This is especially true for landscapes like this one, which contain an enormous amount of detail which the PaD image only hints at :-)

You can even see the the four flood light towers at Macron, formerly the Reebok stadium, home of Bolton Wanderers, in Horwich.

Robin and Jean, if you want a more detailed pic you can go to:-
https://sites.google.com/site/fneilr/home/files
and download it, 8.24 MB, resolution 4162 x 2864 pix. Of course approx half is going to be sky/clouds. You can see the birds around the tractor ploughing the field (and the bird in the sky is better.)
