A good picture, but very sad. Trees growing from the upper tower, anyone want to hazard a guess when it will be "no more".

What a transformation, usually see a totally different view of the church when driving along Caroline Street, amazing how a bit of thought can completely change a view, first class.

From this photo, there`s not much untoward but take a look at video on :-

Photo also gives false impression of it`s location - very crafty viewpoint, Dave! Is the store that was behind you Tile Mart Ltd.?

My beloved childhood church where I and my Brother were baptised ..as was my Dad,my Grandparents were married there..so where my parents as well as my Brother..and where I went every morning to 7-45 mass, every evening benediction..and anybody looking up at the front of the church will notice the statue of St Joseph which is still white despite it being exposed to traffic fumes for years.

The last service at this old church was about 20 years ago, it is sad to see it looking like this.

Dave- Back in July 1988. My wife Bernie and i were Married in this Church and it is a shame that such a building is not now in use

Ernest no-one whats to read your boring comments. It's about time this was demolished by the council instead of historic buildings! Good photo by the way.

It still has it's bell . The local church here ( that is in use ) had it's bell stolen .They found it for sale in Wales !

Speak for yourself Kev! I like to read what Ernest has to say - at least it is informative and useful. I do not know this Church but appreciate a great photo and viewpoint. Nice one Oy.

Yes I think it's about time it was pulled down, end of the day, there's no future for it and church congregation are less ans less each year...sadly.

Comment by: Dave (Oy) on 23rd October 2013 at 17:31

Ernest - yes I have - I've tried 3 times now and I can't make any sense of it. Maybe just ask me a question rather than lead me through a trail going back 3 years?

Sorry Dave. I wanted you to take an up-to-date photo of your 25th April 2010 P-a-D which would show the Piazza and Wigan Life Centre.
