It looks like it's lined up for take off down market street. I noticed the English flag flying from the church tower. Is it always there or was it also St Georges day.

That building looks like a stage set prop. I have always thought it looked odd but this angle makes it look really peculiar.

Derek St Georges Day is in April and the photo was taken in June. Glad to see somewhere what flies the national flag and shove the PC brigade

Comment by: Alan H on 28th July 2013 at 13:40

Could the flag have been flying because it was Walking Day for Wigan Parish Church?

Thanks folks! I used a HDR technique to bring the sky back, as it were.

And very nicely done Andrew. I like HDR - some folk don't, but this suits the subject and is sympathetically done. Nice shot.

Superimposed..yuk, you can't beat genuine photos, what you see is what you get.

peterp; There are a lot more flags of St.George and Union Jacks flying these days. I see several whilst travelling in Lancashire.
Wonder how close the Wigan Parish Church is to showing the right time?
Janice; I`m with Garry on this;much prefer untouched photo`s.

I have seen this Spitfire a few times around the north west. I think it is hired out for events. Nice picture and a really good replica.
