Comment by: Lizzie down under on 14th October 2012 at 05:25

What a lovely dog Ron looks like the dog loves to fotch it!!!! He or she seems to be saying "bet you can't get this stick off me" great photo. May be the collar is telling me the dog is a boy. Cheers

Comment by: Ernest Pyke on 14th October 2012 at 11:38

peterp, have you read my comment on P-a-D 4th September`12, posted on 12th October`12 at 21:35?

Comment by: Mick on 14th October 2012 at 11:44

With that cigar it could be Jimmy Savills dog.

Comment by: mw on 14th October 2012 at 16:10

LOVE IT !!!!

Comment by: Dennis Forshaw on 14th October 2012 at 17:06

Believe it or not, Janet. Canal water is now high quality.
Vast improvements have been made since the 1950s and 60s.

Comment by: peterp on 14th October 2012 at 17:22

Ernest ask Brian who dispays these photos on HIS site whether they have to be photos of Wigan. They are on under a sub addition photo of the day.

Comment by: Janet on 14th October 2012 at 17:58

@ Dennis...Thanks, That's good to know, I've been away for 37 years, so lots of changes in that time. I don't think the dog would care either way, but I'm glad it's clean water for the dogs sake..Cheers!

Best birthday card today Ron....thankyou.

Comment by: Fred Mason on 14th October 2012 at 21:49

Ron,

This photo is so good you could enter it in a photo competition..go for it...

Well done....

Comment by: Ernest Pyke on 14th October 2012 at 22:07

peterp, what do you mean by a sub addition? There is no question that Photo-a-Day comes under Photos of Wigan.

Comment by: Paula on 14th October 2012 at 22:43

Lovely photo, typical spaniel straight into the water having fun, great stuff.

Comment by: BILL on 14th October 2012 at 23:15

Fantastic picture!!

Comment by: peterp on 15th October 2012 at 10:11

Ernest I am not getting into a deep debate has what photos should be on this section of WW if you dont like (the wrong photos to you)Then E-mail Brian or just dont look or comment about the photos if you think they should be elsewhere.Has I have said before they are all good photos to me no matter where they where taken. has far has i am concerned end of debate enjoy life

Comment by: Gary on 15th October 2012 at 14:48

peterp...can no one else have their opinion?
We would enjoy life a little more if the photo's were of Wigan and NOT animals! Recognisable places around down.

Comment by: Ernest Pyke on 15th October 2012 at 15:39

peterp, there is no question of a deep debate. It`s quite clear that P-a-D should be a Photo of Wigan. As for a competion, if you`ve read my previous comments you`ll know that I`ve stated a number of times that it`s not a competition. Ron Dawber seems to think it is.
I refrained from commenting about this photo, as again it`s the type of photo that you see in a competition, even though it`s taken in the Wigan area, it could be anywhere.

Comment by: Maureen Andrews nee McGovern on 15th October 2012 at 17:08

Gary..as you have probably not noticed..everyone else's remarks obviously point to the fact that we all enjoy life a little bit more when there are animals.

Comment by: Ernest Pyke on 15th October 2012 at 20:05

Maureen, there are a number of you who like the `wildlife` P-a-D`s and Brian says he can`t have a separate folder for them. There are plenty other websites that cater for the `wildlife` photo`s - most competitions have them.

Comment by: Art on 16th October 2012 at 01:26

Ernest, This board is about photos' & comments on them.
You seem to be attempting to change it into a chatroom with with directions to other posts, & comments on posters. No offence but you make more posts than others, not about the pic in hand. So one comment on the quality, like or not & content of the photo, is all that's required.
Let the photographer make the choice of what he/she posts...(Brian will choose what is allowed, that's his prerogative) ;o)

Comment by: Ernest Pyke on 16th October 2012 at 08:32

Art, There are other people who put more comments than I on P-a-D.
The short comments about the photo are like those for a competition, which P-a-D is not.
The links I give are to give more info and people appreciate them.
As for a chatroom, other people started to chat well before I began to comment.

Comment by: Jean F (Wales) on 16th October 2012 at 21:51

Oh dear Maureen, consider yourself told off ! LOL.

Comment by: Art on 17th October 2012 at 01:16

Ernest..."links" don't work on this board.

ie,links: [url]...[img}

Check back on how many comments you've made on this photo. Especially:
"have you read my comment on P-a-D 4th September`12, posted on 12th October`12 at 21:35?"

Do you think that your opinion is more important than anyone elses, seeing that you have to direct members to a cross post somewhere else?

Or do you think people don't read your opinions.

These boards are littered with similar instructions (not links) made by you. Something almost never heard of in the past. (BTW some of us have been on here over ten years)

Post a (pic)comment by all means, but leave the diatribe out, & leave the rules to the Admin...Brian & Ron, after all, they are the arbiters of these boards....Cheers.;o)

Comment by: Ernest Pyke on 17th October 2012 at 08:55

Art, By `links` I meant websites.
On my comment I wished to attract peterp`s attention, the rest were in response to this. I know that people read my comments and have had complimentary remarks.
Whereabouts do you live?

Comment by: Maureen Andrews nee McGovern on 17th October 2012 at 12:31

Jean,I only consider myself told off if I'm in the wrong..LOL.

One thing I'll say about Ernest is he certainly keeps the comments coming in.

Comment by: Jean F (Wales) on 17th October 2012 at 17:10

I`m puzzled now ernest ,why do you want to know where Art lives !!!???

Comment by: Ernest Pyke on 17th October 2012 at 22:15

Maureen, have you noticed that I refrained from commenting on the next 3 photo`s after this?
Jean, I wonder if Art is a Wiganer.

Comment by: Jean F (Wales) on 17th October 2012 at 23:12

Ernest..now you have really got me puzzled.......Wiganer or not ,would that make a difference to his posting ?.

Comment by: Maureen Andrews nee McGovern on 18th October 2012 at 12:21

Ernest..I understand if you dislike nature photos on P-A-D.,but when there are some I'm not too bothered about..I just don't comment,it's that easy..I'm sure no-one wants to fall out with you,I know I don't.

Comment by: John H on 18th October 2012 at 15:30
