What on earth can he catch in a little puddle like that ? I fish for salmon and I can't get my head around what he is doing !

It's Mowpin Lodge!

What a funny name Ron - isn`t there a `g` missing from the end !! The only fishing I ever did was when I was a school boy. Fished with a bent pin tied to a piece of string tied to a piece of wood. Put the cockies caught in a jam jar !!
Can understand those who fish beside a pond or canal but not those who go fly fishing which the Queen Mum did.

I forgot to mention an essential part I needed to fish - a worm was put on the bent pin.

I remember 60 years ago fishig in the small pond just before the railway bridge by the Flash, there were some big roach in there. Also another small pond just past Scotsman's where we often had few fair sized perch. Also there were freshwater crayfish in the stream just past Scotsman's.Anyway that looks a lovely spot captured so well by Ron.

some nice fish in them small ponds, the one in question as well as the ones near the windmill, are run and maintained by Warrington anglers, They used to be Wigan Centre waters, but they let them get run down, as well as a load of other Wigan Waters

Wsa this also called swan mussel pond, or this that a different one?

Comment by: aitch on 3rd July 2012 at 13:17

The swan mussel pond is inside the Hall grounds, these waters are between Higher lane and Copperas Lane, the land was always called Mr Fosters land, the one you can see is roughly adjacent to the walled garden in Higher lane, Warrington Anglers made a small car park on the land, but a key is needed to access it

Dirty Harry.....you didnt really expect a good response did you ??We can`t really take you seriously.
As "concerned" said......we are concerned!
Got to smile though !

I think Dirty Harry is basically a nice decent bloke but being nice doesn't always get him the attention he so obviously craves.
So try to humour him, he's harmless!
