Nice photo. Spent many a day playing in those woods as kid a long time a go.
Dan many thanks for this photo. It brings back childhood memories for me too although I can't place this waterfall. Is it upstream of the old stepping stones or nearer to Gathurst end? The bluebells will be in flower beneath those trees in the next couple of weeks. I think its time to revisit Dean Wood.
Very pretty...greenery, trees..sunshine and water...what more do you need.
Mavis, the bluebells in Dean Wood have started to flower already, not quite en-masse, but early due to the lovely weather last week. I think the waterfall is more or less mid-woods, maybe more towards Spencers Lane (Abbey Lakes) end.
Dan, lovely photo as usual. I bet you enjoyed the lovely walk through the woods to capture this photo?
Lovely photo - has the wooden walkway been repaired?
Thanks for comments - the wood walkway is good in parts but as at last weekend, there is still a LOT of muddy parts all the way from the canal end of the wood up to Gathurst / Orrell
