in the late 70s when it was mesnes high, school was on both sides of the road then .. we used to have lessons up in the clocktower. classical studies, the teacher was mr johnson

If your bored and want something to do you could count the pigeons on the tower I got 27 + 4.5 on one clock face and 7.5 on the other clock face add them all together and it should come up with the number 39.

4:30 is more likely to be the right time. At 7:30 it would either in in the morning sun or dark. I was one of Mr Nutt's boys in the late 50's. Our home room was in the tower. One day there was a mad chase of prefects and teachers up the stairs. Someone had gone on the roof and dropped a big juicy snowball on the school captain as he returned from lunch. Unfortunately, SC stopped and opened the door so that Pop Skirrow could walk out. Pop stopped the snowball.....

schooled there, I never knew whether I was early or late.

My form room was in tis clock tower with Mr. G. Dykes - our form teacher. I was in the lower sixth along with Peter Layland and Chip Jeffrey

there are 29 pigeons.been up the wooden staircase inside the clock tower loads of times when i was at mesnes high(80-83),use to sit out my least favourite lessons up there and read all the old gramma school books,pupils registers,etc probably all still up there today.
