Photo-a-Day  (Tuesday, 17th October, 2006)

On the 17th of last month, some idiots decided to steal 2 bronze plates from the Wigan War memorial in the Parish Church grounds. The plates contained the names of soldiers killed during WWI. Why?

Maybe they have relatives whos names are on those two plates? Some twisted logic or just lack of humanity making them think they should have them?

Or maybe they are just scum. Or both.

Maybe with the high price of scrap they have weighed them in.

It makes me very angry. It has stood there for nearly 100 years, unmolested... and then some briandeads decide to have a joke

I remember sitting there eating ice-cream with my nanna when I was a child. With Rememberance Day coming up I hope the eggheads who did this will show some remorse and return them for the dignity for those who died.
