Wigan Album

Just a quick comment to the folk who complain about what photos should and shouldn`t be put on this site. I love seeing pictures of old places around Wigan especially places that have long gone, but of all the photos that have been submitted to this section lately I think this is the finest example of any "Old Photo" I`ve seen in a good while.
The clarity for the date is superb and the faces and fashions are a joy to behold.

Amazing how all the men are uniform in size, same for the women.

Thanks for your kind comments about the photo. I thought it was about time that I dug deep into my photograph collection to add some gems to Wiganworld, because I've been disappointed with some of the recent postings.

An ideal pic for a future St Mary's Parish Calendar - can I use it?

My grandparents James Albert Morris and his wife Annie Hilton are in the middle of the group, she wearing a hat, next to the woman with a scarf draped around her neck, and he's the bald man right behind her.
I have a copy of this photograph and always thought that it was a trip from the Black Diamond pub c1949/50
