This a picture of another carnival float, again from the late 1940's - I think one of the ladies is my mum's (Anne Wright - later McPherson) grandma. Their theme was "washday"

Elaine, The lady on the left looks very much like my grandma, Emily Blinston, she had a grocery shop in Golborne Road.
