This is probably towards to or at the end of the war which I believe is in France. My dad in on the far right. I don't know the other soldiers but would welcome any information if anyone recognises them. At the end of the conflict he was posted to Germany on what he referred to as 'mopping up' operations.

JR, I remember your father from when I did a stint at Asda in the early 1970s, though strangely I can't recall ever having seen him when I was mates with Bill Harrison.
If the horse was left in France I doubt it being around for long with the French being fond of viande chevaline, hopefully if no longer used by the army it was put to work in the farm fields.

Cyril, I knew Billy Harrison really well; one of my best mates back in the day but haven't seen him for quite a while. I lived just around the road from him in Viscount Road in the 60s. Billy knew my dad very well. I will post more of my dad's war/army photos here soon.
