A captivating photo . All the ladies somehow look like my Grandma . The same hats . The spectacles . The same no nonsense expression . I bet they all have a hanky in their bag for spitting on and wiping your face with .
Strange Tom hasn't said they're men dressed up
Noticed that there is quite a few Fox and Fox cub stoles and an assortment of other fur collars, I've just suddenly had an olfactory aroma of Camphor in my mind in remembering those furs.
True Poet you wouldn't want to mess with them or you'd end up with a clip round the ear. Though they would need to be resolute, especially with the austere conditions that would again arrive three years from then.
There wouldn't even have been the tiniest smudge of lipstick or powder in those days. Lipstick would have meant they were ' fallen women'. They look older with the clothes and hats they wore...you can bet they were good cooks , there'll be something cooking in a pot for when they got home..
