I remember that night in The Rose' when quizmaster Mick Moss showed me a few of his collectibles: Correspondence and glossy b/w photos of the Scottish squad, which he'd received from the unfortunate Spurs and Scottish international John White - A rare delight they were! I also remember that early evening when hearing the unfortunate news about the footballer; I was playing snooker - with a Club Orange on the table beside me - in Birchley St Mary's old clubhouse.
Club Orange... BEST EVER ORANGE DRINK It wasn't cheap I think it was 9d and the bottle was smaller than the regular bottles..
Ron - no orange juice tastes better than the one we used to get post-war on the NHS.
That's right Ron: It did come in 'smaller than usual' bottles.
David yes correct the orange juice one got at Nursery was superb It came in a small bottle like a cough bottle .
Yes - that's the stuff, Ron.
If you lived in Spring View, or Ince, you collected from the Ince Council Offices, a side entrance, also died egg, and a kind of a sugary cocoa. Was there also cod liver oil?.
are we talking about the same nhs orange. I can remember as a child going to the clinic on Old Road, Ashton next to the police station. We got a bottle as described and it was orange but it was horrible to take it was cod liver oil, scarred for life .
