Three joined cottages near the canal bridge about 1950 showing euclids starting the open cast coal mining.
Remember well the noise 24/7 of these heavey open cast mining machines near the Old Boys Playing fields which is there now. On the rare occasions when they where not operating I remember looking around the machines and bringing home fossils of sea shells. Imagine the area was once under the sea/
