A Boxing Day walk past the washing plant, besides the steam locomotives "parked up" was the "Yorkshire Diesel" loco that used to haul coal from Robin Hill Drift Mine until November 1963. What ever happened to this loco?

I've seen this loco cross School Lane in Standish a few times on its way to the wash, and the opposite way of course, back to Robin Hill.

There were three 'Yorkshire Engine' diesel shunters used by the NCB in the Wigan area. Two were used at Parsonage and one was based at Chisnall Hall. It is possible that this is the one from Chisnall Hall. If it is, it was moved to Sutton Manor Colliery, St Helens in 1967. The two from Parsonage were scrapped in Rotherham in 1986.
