They were lovely Irene. I know exactly what you mean. It was a real treat as a kid to get on a train at Wigan station for a trip to Southport, bucket & spade in hand.
Do you remember the carriages how clean they used to be and each one had a nice picture on the wall? Ah they were precious memories!
