This looks like Platt Bridge, is it the top of Walthew Lane, just before Moss Lane? The powers that be linked Hindley and Platt Bridge together and '75 would be after the delight that was the grand local government shake-up!
I didn't know that the gable of this house at the bottom of Moss Lane Platt Bridge had been rebuilt as far back as that, it's weathered very well. Maybe the council hadn't then got around to removing the urban district council boundary signs.
Is it not just heading to Spring View. The bus has come from Abram. Spring View Cricket ground would be just further along on the right. On the other side of the Bridge is Webster Street.
why is the ambulance station called Hindley station when its in platt bridge
The 'Hindley' sign denotes the old border between Ince UDC (Urban District Council) and Hindley UDC both were abolished in 1974 when they became part of Wigan Metropolitan Borough Council
having zoomed in to pic the driver looks like my brother inlaw Ronnie myers
