Apologies if any of the names are wrong but I find it difficult to read my dad`s handwriting
Wondering if the "I Crodigan" on row 2nd next to front could be Jim Croghan, later Sergeant in Wigan Borough Police force.
He does bear a strong resemblance to him, and is of right age group.
Pic for comparison can be seen here: http://www.wiganworld.co.uk/album/photo.php?opt=3&id=666&gallery=Police&offset=0
You`re right it is him. I`ve just checked with my dad
Hi Kevin! Was the two Eaves related?and did they have anything to do with Eavesway Travel on Wigan Road.
The man sitting directly behind the big drum and wearing the neckerchief is my Uncle Jack Riley and I think Jimmy Croghans was his step brother. Uncle Jack died in 1986 and the Gerards Scouts Assoc were at his funeral.
Hi Tom . The two Eaves lads were brothers and their father was Tom Eaves who owned Eavesway coaches
SueA . Jack Riley and Jim Croghan were half brothers .They had the same mother
Thanks for confirming that Kevin, I remembered my Mum mentioning it once but wasn't sure if I'd got the right connection between them. Jack was married to my Mum's sister Marion.
