The lines to the left linked the (GC) Great Central line to Platt-Bridge junction, Bickershaw W junction and Wigan Central Station.

I think the houses are the Leyland Park housing estate in Hindley.
Correct Neil. Micky east, Hindley South station was located on Liverpool road, next to the Strangeways pub. The station started life as Strangeways and Hindley. Hindley Green station was located on Leigh road.

Micky-Frank, Wigan North-West, Hindley Green stn closed 1 May 1961, Howe Bridge stn closed 20 July 1959, Ellenbrook stn closed 2 Jan 1961, Worsley stn closed 5 May 1969, Monton Green stn closed 5 May 1969 and then on to Eccles.
Sorry missed.....Tyldesley Station closed 5 May 1969.
