Wigan Badge Police/Fire Brigade?

Does anyone know what this badge relates to? It's approx 1 3/4" dia. Looks like it could be Police or Fire Brigade? Also it appears the fixing on the back has been ground off, as the back is perfectly flat.

Just discovered that it is a 1950's Fire Brigade cap badge

Regarding the flat ground back. When I retired from the ambulance service, my cap badge was straightened & ground flat at the back to be stuck on a shield as a memento. So it could be the same reason for that to have it's pin removed & ground flat

Could well be Art, as there is some adhesive on the back.

YES THIS LOOKS LIKE A FIRE BRIGADE CAP BADGE WITH LUGS REMOVED SHOULD HAVE RED FELT UNDER COAT OF ARMS, NOW VERY RARE ITEM

it would have had a red piece of cloth behind it as it was wigan FB cap badge
