Gantry at Taylors lan who remembers Double London and Double Crewe

I remember all that. "Double London" was the double raised signal in the middle of tha gantry while "Crewe" was a single distant signal away to the photographer's left. I could never understand why they were so called; the "London" signal was for northbound trains coming from London While the "Crewe" signal was for southbound trains heading towards Crewe. Didn't make sense, but happy days!
