Late 1940s. What official-looking building is this? Presumably in the Wigan / Golborne area. Any ideas?

This looks like one of the house attached to Wigan Infirmary. There are or was a row of similar houses that housed the medical library,and the night nurses home amongst other things

It is indeed - in the same row, about next door but two, is Malvern House, yet another one-time residence of G Formby!
I wonder if that's Lucy Boydell standing outside? Looks rather like her. Pity the photo's not higher resolution.
