The reference to Wigan is probably those pies either side of the invitation at the top.

this picture relates to a photo of the visit of the king and queens visit to Hindley that was posted today probably within 6 photos in the ALBUM but no doubt will be under ROYAL VISITS I realise its Nowt to do with wigan in its own right

I believe that this event relates to a royal tour of Lancashire 7th to 14th July 1913, with a visit to Wigan on 10th July. Another connection with Wigan is that George Formby snr. was one of the entertainers. Wigan Observer report of the time says His second song Standing by a lamp post at the corner of the street may not have been appropriate for such an occasion!

Vic Rawlinson - George Formby Sr. was the father of the George Formby who sang "Leaning on a lamp post"
