This was the best team ever to come out of ABRAM,
Won every thing in font of them 1950-51
The league, the LYTHGOE Cup & The WIGAN CUP,
There is only two of these lads alive today,
Bob Jones the goalkeeper & Walt Taylor 3rd player from the end on the right,back row.
The photograph is taken on Holy Familys football field as that was Maypoles home ground, the old Holy Familys school is in the back ground

Isn't that Fred Elliott from Spring View in the suit next to the captain. If I remember rightly, Fred was the Training Officer at Maypole.

Bob Jones is my Grandad. Amazing to see this photo online, i've seen it in a book about abram before, but this is awesome. Thanks alot i'm sure he'll be made up when I show him.
