Its good to see this cricket team, I played against them quite a few times in the fifties. I played for Blackrod at that time. My dad was a player for Blackrod before the war, his name was Jimmy Roocroft, and after the war they started up the West Lancashire League, and I was only about 14 or so and I waent with him and the team to their first game and it was at Norley Hall, my dad went in about second wicket down and boy was I smiling when he came off with 44 not out. I have been in Canada since 1969 but we now come home (to the UK) each year and I still go to see my old Blackrod Club.
