Wigan Album

Can’t find an Evan Shine in Wigan RLFC’s records. He certainly looks an athlete but that isn’t a “Wigan” shirt that I recognise. Wigan signed well over 100 Welshmen over the years (if he’s Welsh) but I don’t think this is one of them. Found only one Evan, Evan Price who played 3 games in 1900.

Like Keith I can't find anyone of this name in the two books I have that claim to list all the players who have played for Wigan's first team. He may have been Irish as there is an Irish folk singer named Brendan Shine, and googling "Evan Shine" came up with a current young Dublin footballer of that name.

Keith, Looking a the photo again it doesn't look like that it's a Rugby shirt that hes wearing. Its more like an athletic vest. I'm only going off the info I was given..

There's no trace of him on Find my Past from 1860 onwards. Probably Welsh, Evan is Welsh for John.
