I think that's my Dad, stood up in the middle. He used to tell me the rides they would go on like the lakes and north Wales. Amazing to think they would do them in a day. It's not like they had the bikes what are available today, made of light materials like carbon fibre.

I recall a picture of Tom Hughes in the Wigan Observer about the same time
He was astride a motor bike with the caption
"Neaw Tom,Thrutch"
