Judging from the players in previous images I'd suggest this is after 1952 but before the picture of around 1955 but I stand to be corrected. The picture is taken directly outside the changing rooms with Farley Lane to the left with Roby Mill beyond.
Back Row L-R 1.Frank Richardson 2.Raymond Kirk 3.TBC ??? 4. TBC ??? 5.Bill Johnson 6.TBC ???

Was Tom Speakman related to Joseph? I am about to put yet another Roby Mill Football team photo on this site, and on it a player very much looking like this Tom Speakman is named Jimmy Wilson. Clarification would be very helpful Phil.
Hi Phil, I can find in my Speakman family tree data 2 Thomas Speakmans which might fit the bill for "Tom Speakman" in your photos. One born 1926, a son of Hugh Speakman and Margaret (Wilson) at Orrell, and one (William Thomas) born 1932, a son of Joseph Francis Speakman and Mary (Fearnhead) at Standish. Both have origins in Joseph Speakman and Susannah (Ainscough) of Dalton, via different sons of that couple. Joe and Susannah lived late 1700s-early 1800s, a farming family. Please Email me for more info, especially if you can also help my family tree searches. Joseph Speakman in same photo was a son of Thomas & Ellen (Greenhough), grandson of Thomas & Ellen (Smith), gt grandson of Hugh & Mary (Ditchfield), gt gt grandson of Joseph & Susannah (Ainscough).
Hello Chris, thanks for the information; after consulting my older relatives and friends from Roby Mill I can confirm that Tom Speakman who is on your latest image also appears on two images I've uploaded.
He is NOT a relative of Joe Speakman (that they remember)whose family live and work currently at Johnson's Farm in the village. Neither source could identify which line of Speakman's Tom is descended from.
Regarding Joe, my relatives are pretty sure that Joe was one of three children having two sisters Kathleen and Monica.
Regarding the reference to Jimmy Wilson; he appears in the image which includes Fr Hitchen and is on the front row to the left of my Uncle Edmund as in the captions. Again this was confirmed by another source who was a friend of Jimmy's.
Hope this helps for the moment.........I shall endeavour with my own research and let you know what I come across . philash88@gmail.com
