My thanks to Gordon, Standisher, and Cindy. I remember playing against Curly, in the 70s. A good strong player he was - always got stuck-in.

To fill in a few more..... The gentleman on the far left is John Silcock, (lovely chap) used to bowl with him for Wilf's. Goalie is Malcolm Hunter (worked with my mother at Bradley factory) To the right of him is Jack Shawcross
(played with Jack and Percy Hill for Wilf's Table Tennis team - happy days !!) Finally lad on far right, front row is John Hilton (slight relation).Hope they're all well.

I played for a Standish BDA at the time. Had no match so end to watch St Wilfs at the Rec. The winger facing Curly was terrified of him so got rid of the ball asap. On one occasion he slammed the ball straight in Curly’s face. Curly just shook his head. Ref ran past and said ‘ are you ok son ‘. Curly said yes and an old guy next to me on the touch line shouted ‘ HAVE A LOOK AT BALL ‘. I’m still laughing over 50 years later.
