This photo was on Wigan World in October 2009, but the date of the match was shown as 11th January, 1947 not 4th January as on the actual photo.

Sorry everyone. I have now realised that I posted this photo 2 years ago, but I cannot remember if I posted the trophies photo.

On Wednesday January 1st Wigan played Wakefield at Central Park winning 23 points to 5, on the following Saturday January 4th they played Wakefield away and lost 7 points to 8, which looks as if it was the date this photo was taken.

The Wigan team that faced Wakefield on January 4th 1947 was
Cunliffe; Ratcliffe, Ward, Lawrenson, Nordgren; Mountford, Toohey; Woosey, Shovelton, Banks, Atkinson, W. Plan, J Blan.
