This was a news paper that my dad always took. When it was finished with, the next day it became the toilet paper. Nobody (General Public) had any money for classy toilet rolls. It may have been an appropriate name, the Daily Dispatch. I believe its demise came in the early fifties, or it may have been the late forties.2

Albert, the Daily Dispatch (printed at Withy Grove Manchester - now the Printworks) shut in 1955 being taken over by the News Chronicle which itself closed in 1960. Compared with those days, not many people buy newspapers these days, as we know for obvious reasons - television, internet etc.
