Teams for the benefit games. The first game was rugby league followed by football.
As you can see for the rugby match Georgie Fame played on the wing outside Keith Holden. I'm sure Keith would have looked after him.

I see and chat with Ray Ashby at every home game, a very friendly and cheerful character, he's sometimes with Frankie Parr, another Wigan great.

Frankie Parr & Georgie Fame were best of pals - hence the Wigan connection. Georgie Fame came back to his old stomping ground a few years ago and played at Aspull Village Hall? and The Monaco Ballroom Hindley. It was a great night and Georgie (Clive Powell ) has never forgotten his roots.

I saw him at the Monaco on that occasion, he was on stage with his two sons, i gave him an old photo of himself as a 15 year old with the Beat Boys.

One of the best testimonials ever .Central Park was packed with stars. Ater the match there was a Caberet show in the rugby club .Georgie Fame topped the bill. There was a draw in the interval ,the prize was 5 days in Majorca for 2 .I won it and took my still to this day best mate Denis Dwyer with me ,our first time abroad .Thanks for posting this it brings back special. Memories.

I shared a few drinks with Colin and Billy (Boston) each Thursday night in the old Central Park bar in the late 60's. A great lad. Happy days!
