Single sheet programme for the 3rd round Youth Cup game 15th January 1964. Some famous names on both sides.. Wigan Ath...Dave Gaskell who went on to play for Manchester United. Alan Ashcroft who played for England school boys but never made it in the professional game. For Everton, Jimmy Husband and John Hurst, who were regular first team players in the 1960's. Even had a Rooney... I wonder if he was a relation to Wayne? I think Everton won the game something like 9-0?

That's not David Gaskell Ron, he played in the fa cup final in 1963. I think the goalkeeper was Vic Gaskell.

Alan Ashcroft, ex Highfield old boy at centre half for Wigan. Alan played for England Schoolboys.

yes he did go to bolton. i worked with alan for many years at dewrance in skem.
