I've added a bit of colour, if that's OK with all concerneed.
Very nice indeed George, how do you colour b/w photos, I'M intrigued.

I use a programme Photoshop Elements (I use version 9), but to do it I select the areas I want for example to be blue, decide whether I want a hard edge or soft edge to that colour, and decide on the actual hue, how saturated I want the colour to be, how dark or light, and how opaque (how much of the underlying picture to show through). And then do the same with each other colour, adjusting ones I've done already to fit the overall effect.
In the picture above for example for the head I have six separate layers of colour.
Very effective George, you must have a lot of patience to do that. By the way Wigan Highfield had an interesting and nomadic history and a few name changes. They entered the league in 1922 and later became London Highfield (for 1 season), then Liverpool Stanley, Liverpool City, Huyton, Runcorn Highfield, (just) Highfield, and finally Prescott Panthers, folding for good in 1997.
I grew up in Liverpool and rather than going to Anfield for the first few years of my teens I used to watch Liverpool City at Knotty Ash.
My first game actually was against Wigan, Billy Boston and all :)
