date wrong by about thirty years!!my father is far left back row
This may be the Wigan team that played Widnes at Central Park on February 8th 1936 in Round 1 of the Challenge Cup. Back, left to right, Charlie Seeling, Joe Golby, Gordon Innes, Reg Hathway, Len Mason, Harold Edwards, Albert Davis. Sitting, left to right, Alf Ellaby, George Bennett, Jim Sullivan, Hector Gee, Gwyn Davies and Jack Morley. Wigan won 26 - 9.
I think that is Targett in the middle at the back. Not Hathway.
Thank you for putting me right P Magee. You are of course quite right, it is Targett not Hathway as I stated - it also makes me reconsider which match it might be. I'm now inclined to say it could have been a 2nd round Challenge cup match against Dewsbury at Central Park on 23 February 1935, this team fits exactly and Wigan won by 25 points to 5.
