The Teacher/Coach was Mr. Higham.
This information was given to me by Ste Dainty who was Captain the previous Season.
Can anyone name the missing Players?
I see the school bully Joe Crooke is in pride of place on this photograph. Thank god I have never clapped eyes on him since I left school
Third from left on back row could be Paul Holden
Worked with Tommy Whittle at Parsonage, grand lad. I knew Joe Crooke when we lived opposite him in Platt Waz. He was quite ba bit older than me and used to take me fishing. I have no idea what he was like at school but he was always kind to me. I hope he and Tommy are both doing well.
Mr higham was our rugby teacher at St john fisher, we won the Sullivan cup
In 1957 , the first cup to be won by St john fisher great teacher
To the 'ex pupil' who left a comment about my beloved dad Joe Crook. As he is no longer here to defend himself I would dispute your bully allegation and stand by the opinion shared by many that he had a heart of gold.
Annette Taylor I am sorry if my comment re your father caused you some upset there was certainly no intention of doing that, but I must say that I am speaking the truth, perhaps your father changed in later life but your description certainly does not match my memory of him.
To ex-pupil who still remains anonymous. The very fact that my Dad was the school rugby team captain speaks volumes. He could and did stand up for himself but was not a bully. Sounds to me like your a sad old man who lost a fight and needs to just get over it ( whatever your name is ) your not fit to Lace my dads boots
My, my Annette you seem to have lost it a bit there, I can't imagine who you take after !!!! Do not bother responding as I will no longer be visiting the site
I just thought I would finally correct your statement Annette. I am not a Mr, I am a Mrs.
