I think middle row first on the left is David Dawber.

Comment by: Jarvo on 30th December 2014 at 18:26

Isn't that Carl Mulqueeny, back row, second from left?

Comment by: broady on 1st January 2015 at 19:19

Is that the Alan Farrington that went on to play 2 or 3 games for Wigan in the 70's???

Comment by: Derek Halliwell on 2nd January 2015 at 15:03

Broady it is Alan Farrington that went on to play for Wigan.I can't remember if he played first team rugby but he did play for the A- team

Comment by: Derek Halliwell on 2nd January 2015 at 15:20

David I think your spot on about the two lads, we could do with Alan Farrington to read and confirm David Ashcroft cos they lived next door to each other on norly hall ave next to the old people's home. David I need your full name cos it is a very long time scince the isle of man. And Frank Gaskell lived on Scafell Drive.

What position did the lad with the ball play? He looks massive compared to the others.

Comment by: Derek H on 2nd January 2015 at 17:33

Hello David read your comments about the photo then you said about isle of man, couldn't think who david was so I went and had my tea then it hit me.So if I'm wright and I think I am you must be David Barker, hope your in good health and doing well.

That's me with the ball,Jade I played on the left wing then played centre as I got older. I was about 6 foot tall when that photo was taken, but over the years they grew bigger and I didn't so they all caught up.

Comment by: david on 2nd January 2015 at 23:39

thats me derek'i'm doing ok don't see any of the lads who went the isle of man with us,you still living out burnley way?,hope your keeping well

Thought you,d be loose forward or something Derek. , would never have guessed winger. Ronnie Dootson, think he was Pem as well, was huge at schoolboy level, saw him playing on Robin Park once and he was a good two foot taller than anyone else. John Bretgerton was my era, he was built like a tank and like trying to tackle one as well.

Middle David Ashcroft next Frank Gaskell I Think he lived across the road from you corner house younger of 2 Brothers and of course Little Mr Bryson

I am back row left. The lad back row right next to Mr Bryson is Graham Parkinson, believe he went to Canada, could be wrong! Great to see photo after so long.

Derek, do you remember breaking Ray Winnards leg playing cricket?

Comment by: Derek Halliwell on 14th February 2015 at 15:16

Hello Frank hope you and Gail are well, it's a long time since Lamberhead rd when we where all kids.Read your comments on the other photo, you have a better memory than me couldn't remember if it was the colts or under 19s. Getting back to your last question about Ray Winnard yes I do remember breaking his leg, we where both running to catch the ball and didn't see each other and bang we hit each other and that is how his leg got broke. Hope he has fully recovered and hasn't any problems with it. Great to hear from you keep well Derek. Ps 65 now and on the pension.
