The result was Wigan 22 Hunslet 13 - the prolific scorer Lewis Bradley got 2 tries - a high scoring match for those days, the state of the pitch didn't seem to stop them. The Wigan team included the likes of Lance Todd, Charlie Seeling, Johnny Thomas, Bert Jenkins - great players all - Wigan only lost 6 league matches all season and this included Hunslet away, so this was sweet revenge.

Person extreme right is I believe John Counsell, stalwart of the Wigan Club in the very early days and for many years after.

Interesting comparison David, but I bet Eamonn has never had to make the team sandwiches for their away games as John Counsell did.
