I found this photo while tidying out my office along with the following one to be posted. Apologies for the quality, it was a photocopy probably given to me by my old mate Dave Brogan just to rub my nose in it because I couldn't make the trip. No doubt many will recognise some of the familiar faces and others will wonder why some are actually on the photo. Sadly a few of them are no longer with us.

Is that Bill Sayer the wigan rugby league No9 hooker who wigan let go in 1966 to saints who then went on to demolish wigan who did not have a recognised N09 due to Colin Clark being suspended for 1 game??

The very same Alan. John Dickenson 1st left front row.

Alan, as i remember it, it was Alex Murphy that demolished Wigan that day by creating scrum after scrum by fair means or foul thus giving Sos Sayer and Saints the odds on chance of retaining or regaining possession, due to, as you so rightly said, Wigan having to play our second choice hooker Tom Woosey, against probably the best hooker of a ball in the game at that time. With all due respect to Sos(RIP)he was far from the best hooker with ball in hand.

Bill Sayer related how he played in some sort of a match on this trip with a "Bellyful" of guiness and had to be helped up whenever he went down.He was 50 by then remember.

I was one of his props
It was both an honour and a rush to escape the regurgitated Guinness

A very good singer after a pint or two was Bill.

He wasn't a bad darts player either, he played for the same team as my dad, they were doubles partners, a good lad all round.

I don't think so, I believe it's David (Billy) Williams, spotted Mick Kenny as well

I love the fact that I'm on there but skilfully hiding behind John Carey (who got so bladdered in the Guiness factory that he got us thrown out !)

Cracking trip
