I am trying to find out the name of this amateur rugby league team, and where they would have been based in Wigan. My dad, Gordon Blackburn, is on the extreme left of the row next to the back. Despite the number of players shown I am convinced that it is league as that is all he ever spoke about.
I am guessing that he looks to be between 18 and 24 years old, and if this is correct it would date the photo between 1926 and 1932.

The gentleman with the overcoat and Flat cap at the extreme right of the next to back row has a proper mans hand.

Hi James, this may be 100% wrong and not helpful at all but an Ernest Gordon Blackburn was born in Wigan in 1908 - his parents were James Abrook Blackburn and Isabella Jolley who married at St Andrews that year. A certain J Blackburn played for Wigan before 1902, no mention of how many times but scored 6 tries.
Hi Ashley, I am Jim's sister and you are 100% right. James Abrook Blackburn and Isabella were our grandparents and the J Blackburn who played for Wigan was John Blackburn and was our great uncle, thank you for your comment.
