1984 - Wigan fans on Wembley Way in front of the Twin Towers posing for the Wigan Reporter. Wigan versus Hull Rugby League Challenge Cup Final. Wigan went on to win this final 28-24. This match is often referred to as one of the greatest rugby league finals ever !!!

I think you will find that the year was 1985 and yes it was the greatest rugby league final ever. I was there like I was when Wigan beat Hull in the 1959 Final. Unfortunately I was unable to attend the final in August of this year. By the way Wigan lost to Widnes in 1984 when a certain Mr Joe Lydon ripped Wigan apart!

thought it was 85 wen wigan won the cup against hull . was,nt it widnes in 84 ? .

Pam, great photograph but it was 1985. Wigan lost to Widnes in 1984.
