Why? This is an artists impression from the 1950's an bit like the Spanish hotels advertised in 70s ans 80s = nothing like reality. It doesn't show the houses in Sprigfield or St Andrews Drive.

Ok...So you'd rather have the dull, lifless, souless, jjb, dw stadium, whatever it's called? Springfield will ALWAYS be Latics' spiritual home...
